Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Varcq collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this simple and honest.

1. Information We Collect

  • Profile information you provide when you build your Varc or recruiter profile — including name, photo, bio, skills, education, work history, projects, and, for recruiters, company details.
  • Contact details such as your email address and phone number, used to sign you in and to enable contact between candidates and recruiters.
  • Usage data including pages visited, features used, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser information, and timestamps.
  • Content you create on the Service, such as messages, contact requests, applications, and reviews.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate Varcq and match candidates with recruiters.
  • To personalise the experience, including search and browsing.
  • To secure the platform and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam.
  • To improve the product and analyse how it's used.
  • To communicate service updates, security notices, and support responses.

3. How Information Is Shared

Recruiters can view candidate profiles ("Varcs") to consider them for opportunities. Contact details such as email and phone number are only revealed to a recruiter after a candidate has accepted a contact request or applied to the recruiter's job.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers who help us run the platform (for example, hosting, database, and email delivery), under contracts requiring them to protect your data and use it only for our purposes. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Varcq uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect functionality such as staying signed in.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored with reputable cloud providers and protected by administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and respond promptly to potential incidents.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Export your data in a portable format.

You can exercise most of these rights directly in your account, or by contacting us at the address below.

8. Children

Varcq is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the Service.
